Fetus or Human?

There are only 4 main differences between a born human being and an unborn baby (SLED):

Size: Does how big you are determine who you are?
Level of development: Are 21 year olds more human than 10 year olds because they are stronger and smarter?
Environment: Does being inside a house make you more or less a person than being outside?
Degree of development: Does dependence on another determine who you are? Is someone on kidney dialysis or with Alzheimer's less of a person?

Surrender

Having been born into the kingdom of God, I do hereby
acknowledge that God's purchase of my life included
all the rights and control of that life for all eternity.

I do further acknowledge that He has not guaranteed me
to be free from pain or to have success or prosperity.
He has not guaranteed me perfect parents.
He has not guaranteed me perfect children.
He has not guaranteed me the absence of pressures, trials,
misunderstandings, or persecution.

What He has promised me is eternal life.
What He has promised me is abundant life.
What He has promised me is peace, joy, love, patience,
gentleness, meekness, and self-control.
He has given me all of Himself in exchange for the rights of my life.

Therefore, I acknowledge this day the relinquishment of all
my rights and expectations, and humbly ask Him by His
grace to replace these with a grateful spirit, for whatever
in His wisdom, He deems to allow for my life.

Camp Reflections 2011

In June, we attended our fifth year of family camp- I can hardly believe it's been that long!
Katie and Sarah (above) before the baptism.
Lovely Barton ladies! So blessed to have them with us again.
Pip being a big boy and pushing Ti-baby! He told me and Shay that we were "too big" to push!!
Annie and Marshall almost did the sac race together. It was so cute!
Relay day

Double A!! We came in 3rd place, I believe.

Annie on Kenny's back.

The relays were so much fun this year- mostly new and very creative.

Tash and Marshall swimming. We had such sunny days that we were in the water every day!
A cute pregnant woman I found on the beach!

Sand castles- with four teams this year!
The theme was "fish" or maybe "sea creature" (I don't rightly remember!).
Tabernacle Thunder did the whale, just as it was about to "burp" up Jonah. So cute!
Our team, Hogan's Heroes (get the pun!!), did Jonah as he was being swallowed by the whale.
The Becomers did a beautiful sand sculpture of a father dolphin and it's baby.
The LADs (Living Active Disciples in 3D) had a fish story about Josiah killing a shark in defense of Kayla and the boys in their canoe- notice the blood (ie ketchup). They even had a broken paddle!

Fishing Derby
Mr. Brooks took Ethan out and he caught an 11 inch bass!
Some of us got to witness a dragonfly coming out of its nymph- amazing!

Miss Annie and I made a dirt cake- yummy!

Annie's photo of me and the cake. : )
Kenny Jr. fishing
Look at that preggo fishing- a true Maine woman! ; )
Whilst others caught fish, Sarah caught a baby snapping turtle!1
And yes, even I braved the pond to catch me a fish! Take a closer look.
Campfire night- my favorite!!
Dexter's "goofy picture"
Evidence of Emma's thoroughly enjoyed s'more!
We were so blessed by the new folks that came to camp this year and with our church family as well. God was good and taught us many things!

Sorrow May Last for the Night

Cherish the moments with the ones you love that the Lord gives to you.
Do not take them for granted.
Remember, you never know when the moment will be your last.

Weeping may tarry for the night,
but joy comes in the morning.

Off to Camp!

We're off to Pilgrim's Rest (ie family camp) for the next week. It looks as if it will be a totally new experience as we've doubled in size- praise God! Please pray for a safe, restorative and fruitful week! Pictures to follow.....
