Praying for China

There are times when the Lord puts a good book in front of me to give me perspective. This occurred recently when the book Safely Home by Randy Alcorn was recommended to us. It sat on my shelf for awhile and when I finally picked it up, I didn't want to put it down! If you get a chance to read this book, do! I'm going to lend it to Lori next (she doesn't know that yet, but I guess she does now!), but if someone wants to borrow it after her, let me know. 'Tis a must-read! The following is taken from the book and is a list of things to pray about for the persecuted church in China. We really have no idea what it means to be persecuted for our faith, the least we can do is pray for our tortured brethren!
~ Pray that those witnessing the suffering saints will see that Jesus must be real in order to sustain them.
~ Pray that the rotten prison food will actually taste good to the Christian captives.
~ Pray that the rags they wear in winter will keep them warm.
~ Pray that the beatings and torture will not weaken them, but strengthen them in their faith.
~ Pray that Satan would not overcome them and their families with discouragement.
~ Pray that the prisons will become centers for revival.
~ Pray that Christians in registered churches will be bold.
~ Pray that house churches will be invisible to the police, but visible to everyone else.
~ Pray that the sons and daughters would not be ashamed of their mothers and fathers in prison- that they would not believe Satan's lies.
~ Pray that God's Word will be recalled to their hearts and minds for their encouragement, comfort and to share with others.
Pray faithfully for China!

Good reminder Amanda. It is good to pray for the persecuted Christians in China and all over the world! They go through so much for the sake of Jesus and we need to keep them in our prayers.

I'm touched by your compassion! Ü
I try to have the same compassion when I'm praying for my legislators; there is so much to pray for, and so little time!
