Winterbrook

This past May our small church celebrated 7 years of existence.
What began on Mother's day of May 2003 was a body dedicated to the preaching of the Word of God as true, absolute and sufficient for all needs in an age integrated setting. It was fueled by a desire to encourage fathers to be the spiritual heads of their home and lead their families in worship, not just on Sunday, but everyday.

I have loved this church so very much and been blessed by the way we work as a body to help and encourage each other.

By no means do I consider it the perfect church, but for us it is a perfect fit!

We enjoy fellowship with each other, regardless of age. You'll find adults talking with teens, teens talking with young adults, young adults entertaining children and babies entertaining adults!

Children are considered a blessing and not a burden and are constant sources of joy and smiles.

For us, the journey began in the summer of 2004. We were "church shopping" so to speak (though I dislike the phrase) and were invited to visit Winterbrook where close friends were attending.
Dad felt so encouraged an built up by this body of believers and it was an easy transistion. So exactly to the day, August 1, six years ago, we became part of this wonderful congregation.
Here's an excerpt from my journal, dated August 6, 2004:

we visited the Johnsons' church 2 Sundays ago, just to go visit with them. They meet in the garage of one of the families- the Wrights. There are about 10 families that attend. It's small, but very welcoming. It's the first church I've been to that felt like home since we left East Winthrop. It's funny- this was the last church I expected us to consider attending regularly, but dad really likes it there. This past weekend the whole church went camping at Forest Haven and we visited on Saturday and Sunday. It was so much fun getting to know the girls that go there.

Praise God for His provision and sovereignty! And here's to another 7 time 70 more years of Winterbrook Fellowship!
