Why I haven't blogged much

If you have been wondering why I haven't been posting much besides the weekly meditation monday posts, it's because life is a bit crazy right now. Along with the usual weekly piano lessons I teach and the various daily duties, we've been doing some major wedding planning. I'm also involved with King's Bridge Theatre and in their production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe which opens on March 28 at the Vinyard in Lewiston. If you are at all interested please visit their website http://www.kingsbridgetheatre.org/ .

I've also been working on a wedding gift for my sister and Josiah. It's the "Double Wedding Ring" patchwork quilt, which I've always loved the look of. It's proving to be a rather time consuming project, but, Lord willing, I will be done with the face of it by the end of this month and will be able to start quilting it by next month. We'll see!

Here is just a small portion of all of the little pieces that cut out during Jane Austen adaptations! (you've got to use every minute possible to finish these things!)
A friend of mine taught me how to sew in rows, which uses less thread and saves a lot of time- it's almost like an assembly line method of quilting. You can't really see it in the above picture, but it looks a bit like a kite tail.
When a square (or circle) is all finished it looks like this. Then you keep adding all of the other rings to it and it is really lovely- it makes me think of a country or amish farmhouse! Kayla and Josiah both like the color blue, so that is the theme of the quilt.
And speaking of the lovely bride, here she is on one of our unsuccessful shoe-shopping ventures. Who knew how hard it would be to pick out shoes!

And no, she doesn't typically parade around the stores with a shower cap on.....just in case you were concerned.

You ladies act more and more like another young lady that I know. I like your umm hat Kayla, it looks good on you.

how are you two referring to? oh and I have some great hat pictures of Kayla from the trip to Missouri. Teehee, can anyone say red bird hat (and she's posed like a chicken). I think that picture is blog-worthy.
